Malpura Dadabadi, a famous Jain temple of Dadaguru Jin Kushal Suri

Malpura Dadabadi is a famous Jain pilgrimage center in Tonk district in Rajasthan near Jaipur. The town is 95 KM from Jaipur. Malpura has almost same distance from Ajmer Sharif. The place is well connected with bus routes from both the places. It is renowned for Jin Kushal Suri, third Dadaguru. Jin Kushal Suri left for his heavenly abode some seven centuries back at Deraur in Pakistan. It is told that a devotee of Jin Kushal Suri at Malpura could not believe the news of his death. He told himself,"I will believe the sad news if Dadaguru himself will tell me about his death."

Jin Kushal Suri came from the heaven to satisfy the urge of his devotee in Malpura. He shew himself standing over a Grey stone. The stone is kept as it is while building the Dadabadi. Pilgrims and devotees worship the stone as his foot print . A beautiful Dadabadi is build to pay homage Dadaguru.

Sri Jain Swetambar Khartargachchh Sangh, Jaipur is managing this Dadabadi since long time along with several other Swetambar Jain temples and Dadabadi in and around Jaipur. All state of the art facilities are available in Malpura such as food and lodging, library, dispensary etc free of charge for the pilgrims and devotees.

It is worth noted that Dada Jin Kushal Suri was an Acharya in Khartargachchha clan of Swetambar Jain. He is widely worshiped among his devotees all over India and overseas. Hundreds of Dadabadis are built in his name all over India and in some places overseas.

I have posted here few images of Malpura Dadabadi and some videos about other Dadabadis and Dadaguru puja.

An Unique "Ruby" idol of JIn Kushal Suri

Do you want to see an unique statue ? An idol made of a very big size ruby? If yes, then come to Malpura Dadabadi, a pilgrimage center of Swetambar Jain. The idol of Jin Kushal Suri, third Dadaguru is made of a single stone. The idol weighs 125,000 carats i.e. twenty five Kilograms at present. Mr. Pukhraj Lunia, a devotee of Jin Kushal Suri and a gemstone dealer has gifted this idol to the temple.

Ruby is a precious gemstone and it is difficult o find a ruby gemstone of this big size. It requires at least 100 Kg of rough gemstone to make an idol weighing 25 Kg.

There are several other idols of Jain Acharya such as Jineshwar Suri, founder of Khartar Gachchh, Jin Dutt Suri, Manidhari Jin Chandra Suri, Jin Kushal Suri and Jin Chandra Suri. Photographs of these idols are posted above along with the main foot print.

A good place to visit to visit and pray. So fine.

I have visited one village about 40 k.ms away from Jaisalmer that has similar name- Dadabadi. That is near the village Brahmasar,I remember. There also same Guruji's memorial is there. It is said, he came from Multan(presently in Pakistan) side. Perhaps the same Guruji might have moved further to this place, near Ajmer.

The sad thing is that, i have visited Jaipur thrice.During my second visit to Rajasthan I toured there for 15 days.In my third visit, I toured around- Ladnoo, Bikaner, Deshnuk, Ajmenr etc. In all my 3 visits, I visited Jaipur. In spite of this, I did not here of this place.AS a result, I have left this serene place unmentioned in my Kannada travelogue on Rajasthan,Which is the most detailed one on Rajasthan, in my language. How ignorant we are!

You have given historic facts of” Malpura Dadabadi”. In India we are proud of Hindu Religion which has taught us the way of life with tolerance and sacrifice. But where from these virtues have been incorporated in the Hindu Religion. It appears to me, it is Jainism and Buddhism that influenced mostly the Hindu Religion if I am not mistaken. I admire the great tradition of Japura Dadabadi, one of the architects of Jainism.
